Dr. Lim will tell us about her research on robots and emotions, careers in robotics, and a preview of her talk to be held later in the evening of the same day. This event is hosted by Carleton University's Women in Science and Engineering and sponsored by the School of Computer Science.

Ontario Celebration of Women in Computing
The Ontario Celebration of Women in Computing is taking place October 24-25 at Guelph University (Guelph Ontario). There will be a shuttle bus leaving Carleton on October 24th to travel to Guelph and returning to Ottawa on the 25th. If you are interested in being on that bus (it's free!), email us at WISE@carleton.ca and we'll fill you in on the details.

CU-WISE at Finding your Pathway
CU-WISE will be setting up an info booth at 'Finding your Pathway' 2014. Organized the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board and Ottawa Catholic School Board 'Finding your Pathway' supports 'Creating Pathways to Success' which is the new career development policy for Ontario schools. Yourparticipation equips students with information that helps them to better understand the pathways available for a successful transition to their initial post-secondary destination.

A woman of many firsts, Elsie became an engineer, advisor, author, advocate of women’s rights and was honoured with many distinctions. Join us for an intimate session with Crystal who will tell us about how Elsie merged her love of engineering with her values and passions throughout her life. Elsie’s story is about how we can end up taking on varied and interesting roles in life. These roles can surprise us, reward us, and turn us into great professionals, entrepreneurs, social advocates and leaders.
