IBM Extreme Blue Case Study Competition

Your challenge: in teams of 4, you will have 2 hours to come up with a solution to a “Smarter Planet” case study problem presented at the beginning of the competition. In your deliverable - a 4 minute presentation - you need to demonstrate effective use of technology in solving the problem as well as proof that it makes business sense. Prizes will be awarded to top 3 teams.

This case study competition open to 15 Carleton & Telfer MBA students & 45 undergrad/grad science & engineering students.

  1. The Competition was a new experience to me; working with different students of different backgrouds on the case for the first time was extremely useful exercise integrated with a lot of fun. Thanks to IBM and to my team.

  3. Excellent event! If anyone is interested in pursuing this type of challenge further, look into the Annual Student Technology Venture Challenge (www.techvc.org). Their business case deadline is March 2 with a $10k first-place prize!
